Socialization for Home Schoolers
Our local home school group recently had a Valentine's Day party. Home schooled children who attend the co-op, as well as many local home school families who don't participate in the group regularly, all gathered at a local community center to celebrate Valentine's Day with style.
All of the kids had a great time running around outside. The older kids played games out front while the younger kids played "tag" in the back of the community center.
Each child brought a bag or box to put his Valentine cards in. One of the most exciting parts of the party was getting to see how each child designed his box. My sons' favorite was the Lego Valentine box. They wanted to take it home!

ReplyDeleteIt's great to see a homeschooler sharing the socialization of her children. I see socialization used as the major reason why parents disagree with homeschooling and it is frustrating!
